The target audience for this book is middle school children but really it’s for everyone. It’s message of love and respect for all is something that the world truly needs today. I enjoyed this book very much. It’s a true delight.

This little book seems to have been written by a very young person with a beautiful soul. It is about a deformed couple who are outcasts in their village so that they run off to a paradise and make their life there. They have a miracle son named Ray, who has magic powers and is at one with animals and the elements, and looks like an angel. IOW, he is perfect and can do anything. When he becomes school age, his parents realize they must have him educated. How will he fare in a town who rejects his parents for their appearance?
This story has lots of positive and wholesome values that would benefit child readers. I would have preferred a story about a more realistic boy who learns to overcome obstacles by other means than magic. But that’s just me.

A Ray of Sunshine is a lighthearted and joyful read for any kid to learn compassion for others. It shows that one kid can change everybody’s perspective on love and that being different doesn’t mean being treated with cruelty. Overall a beautiful story and message!

Ray stole my heart. Man, what a little hero full of precious qualities! This book teaches the reader to be kind and to help others. If I had kids, they would be reading this for sure. It is a gem and I will be looking for book 2. I feel the message is especially needed now with everything happening in these crazy times of 2020. Let’s spread love to the world, starting with this book.
