IT'S WINDY IN LAS VEGAS. Our house shook, and I looked out the window just as our neighbor's aluminum-framed gazebo flew away. There was no damage in our backyard, but my husband noticed roof shingles hanging from our front tree like Christmas decorations. We inspected our roof, which appeared in good condition. We checked the roof from the back, and sure enough, a few shingles had fallen off. We can't go outside to assess the damage because the wind is still howling, and we won't be able to until it calms down.
I hope that one day we will be able to return to the life we once had, appreciating every minute with our loved ones.
