The morning temperature was already 94° at 6 a.m., and I started my day with a blunder. I did the laundry early to avoid the heat. Our washer and dryer are in the garage. As I wiped my perspiration, I loaded the clothes into the washer and pressed the start button. I couldn’t help but throw a tantrum when a message appeared on the washer’s display. It said, “Reminder to clean your washer with Affresh. Press any key.” I sighed in frustration, cursing myself as I emptied the washing machine and put the tablet in the drum (Affresh washing machine cleaner tablet removes dirt and residue buildup, which can be unsightly and helps keep your washing machine performing and appearing like new).
I scowled at the warning, acknowledging that regular washing machine cleaning was indeed necessary for optimal performance. However, I couldn’t help but wish the reminder had come at a more convenient time, not at 6 in the morning. I waited an hour for the cleaning cycle to finish before putting the clothes back in. By then, it was already 8 a.m., and the temperature had risen even higher, making the laundry process even more uncomfortable.
I guess it’s just one of those inevitable inconveniences of summer—there’s never a perfect time to tackle household chores, especially when it involves dealing with the Las Vegas heat.
